Beloved, here we are past the halfway mark of a new year. Already, we are eight years into the 21st century. Our five senses indicate that the world is technologically further than it has ever been in history.
We can reach across this globe in a matter of seconds, a space station circumnavigates this planet, medical miracles are promoted every day. Life can be duplicated in a test tube. We have re-cycled waste, re-cycled energy, and even re-cycled organs and limbs. With all of these things, it does not appear that our faith has been strengthened nor our love resolute. As recipients of God's gift (John 3:16), commitment must be the work of God's Kingdom in three significant matters:
- bringing the unsaved to salvation,
- edifying the body,
- and most importantly, standing in awe of and offering unadulterated praise to our Glorious God.
There is no doubt in my mind that every vision from above will be accomplished as we remain "single-minded" in our commitments to God's desire. Matthew 6:33 will be our guiding text as we are "One People of God: Building, Growing, and Serving" (Acts 2:42-47) .
